He writes "Because of her personality, I really wanted to train her for taking her to Children's hospitals. She is so good with children and adults alike. Sadie is a lab/chow mix. She was an owner surrender with 10 puppies. All the puppies were adopted, but she remained in the shelter for 3 months. That is, until we adopted her before Hurricane Katrina. While working out of Houston during the disaster, I was asked by management to allow Sadie to roam the building. She not only provided comfort to the children, but the adults as well. About a year later, she developed Myasthenia Gravis, which almost took her life. We believe Sadie was spared because of a specialist who knew what action to take. However, the steroids caused her to gain weight. Even though she is active, she continued to gain weight. We tried many things until our web search led us to
